Hi! You can call me Alex!
I am an interdisciplinary educator and photography-based artist exploring how we see, learn, & grow.
My work brings together artistic practice and education, exploring how ways of seeing shape how we understand ourselves and the world. Through photography, I create both documentary and conceptual portraits centered on identity and the power to share and shape one’s own story.
Born and raised in Spain, I moved to the United States in 2015 and began my artistic career in Virginia. My first solo exhibition, We the Women: Portraits of Empowerment (2018), was supported by a grant from The Puffin Foundation. I previously worked for over six years as a professional portrait photographer across multiple countries.
I hold an MA in Marketing and Business Communication, an MFA in Studio Art (Photography) from Radford University and a Certificate in College Teaching from the University of Arizona. I am currently based in Tucson, where my work extends into teaching and the design of learning experiences focused on connection, engagement, and reflection.
